Thelma
Showtimes July 20 & 21:
Thelma Post is a feisty 93-year-old grandmother who has no intention of going quietly into that good night. When she finds herself targeted and conned by a phone scammer pretending to be her grandson, she’s determined not to be taken advantage of and sets out on a treacherous quest across Los Angeles to reclaim her money. Accompanied by a friend who helps her get around with his motorized scooter, she’s more than capable of taking care of business, despite what her daughter Gail (Parker Posey), son-in-law Alan (Clark Gregg), and grandson Danny (Fred Hechinger) might believe. With intelligent humor, Thelma employs action genre tropes in age-appropriate ways to highlight the difficulties of aging with agency, and it works. Fun for everyone from grandchildren to grandparents, “Thelma is more than a winsome romp. It's a real thrill.” - Mashable
