Theater Camp

Held Over for 2 More Shows September 2 - 3:

Rebecca-Diane and Amos (Molly Gordon and Ben Platt) are besties who attended AdirondACTS as kids and who return to camp as instructors year after year now that they’re older. This summer, however, their creative getaway is in jeopardy. Their camp’s beloved director, Joan Rubinsky (Amy Sedaris), has suffered a seizure and fallen into a coma. Her son, Troy (Jimmy Tatro), is tasked with running the camp in his mother’s stead but is far from up to the task. In fact, he’s a perfect mark for the predatory Caroline Krauss (Patti Harrison) from the ritzy Camp Lakeview next door. AdirondACTS needs saving… and fast.

There’s an authenticity to this film that comes from a caring place. The collaborators who wrote and directed it know theater, love theater, and have an anthropological knowledge of camp worlds that they, themselves, grew up in. It’s their clear eyes, full hearts, and willingness to make fun of their own experiences that give Theater Camp the blend of comedy and sweetness that make it so much fun.
