The Antidote
(USA / 2020 / Directed by Kahane Cooperman & John Hoffman)
Made in response to the time we’re living in, The Antidote weaves together stories of kindness, decency, and the power of community in America. Take a moment, take a breath, and join us for a film about everyday people making intentional choices to lift others up and make their communities better.
Directed by Academy Award nominee Kahane Cooperman and six-time Emmy winner John Hoffman, The Antidote aims to drive conversation about the roles that kindness, decency, compassion and respect can play in a democratic society. Instead of focusing on the structural problems facing our country, their film tells stories of compassionate people who intentionally leverage resources within themselves and their communities to give others a chance at a better life. The Antidote isn’t about an idea or a platform; there are no historians, pundits, or celebrities. It is simply about how we treat each other, who we are, and who we can be individually and collectively.
