Róise & Frank

The titular Róise (Brid Ni Neachtain) lives in the Irish-speaking district around Ring, County Waterford. With its emerald-green coastline dotted with modest, lived in dwellings, her home looks just like heaven. But Róise is feeling alone. Married to her husband, Frank, for 40 years before he passed away, she’s still feeling the loss two years after his death. Her son, Alan, is worried about her, too. Especially when a dog arrives in Róise’s life and she comes to believe that the dog is, in fact, Frank reincarnated. (He has come back to be with her again... and to coach the local sports team!) A shaggy dog story with real heart, Róise and Frank is sweet but never sugary, toying with whimsy while remaining emotionally honest as it explores the complex relationship between bereavement and moving on.
