Robot Dreams

Showtimes July 12 - 18:

Dog lives on his own in a Manhattan apartment, where he’s tired of feeling lonely. After seeing an ad on TV, he orders and builds a robot to be his companion. Their friendship blossoms over the course of the summer, and the two become inseparable as they gallivant about to the rhythm of ‘80s NYC. One summer night, Dog, with great sadness, is forced to abandon Robot at the beach. Will they ever meet again?

A moving animation for everyone from ages 9 – 99, this film will enchant sensitive viewers across the age spectrum and not be forgotten quickly. With a stunning attention to detail, it evokes an equal amount of awe and nostalgia and truly feels like a trip back in time, right down to the graffiti-covered subways and the feeling that you could see the Twin Towers from anywhere in town. But the greatest and most poignant take-away is the very real feeling of the relationship between Dog and Robot, and the fact that you can love someone, even as you evolve.
