We’re reopening!

While we've been closed for public screenings over the past few months, it's been a FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE meeting those of you who booked private rentals at the cinema. To the people we've met face to face (or mask to mask), THANK YOU for holding your book groups, staff parties, and family nights at the theater, and for safely celebrating your holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries with us... including an engagement we'll never forget.

To everyone we've yet to meet, we can't wait! We’re pivoting toward the goal of REOPENING ON JUNE 18, but we will continue to schedule PRIVATE THEATER RENTALS and VIRTUAL CINEMA TITLES into the mix after our reopening.

Following guidelines from the CDC, the State of Massachusetts, and the City of Newburyport, The Screening Room is able to reopen at full capacity, though we don't anticipate filling the theater just yet. Vaccinated patrons may choose whether or not to wear a mask and socially distance when inside, and we will accommodate anyone who asks for socially distanced seating. Per state mandate, non-vaccinated patrons are required to wear masks and maintain six feet of social distance at all times inside the theater, except when actively eating or drinking. Our concession counter will initially open with a limited selection of packaged items (don't worry... the fresh popcorn's still on its way).

On select days, we're happy to offer Masked Matinees (look for the designation "MM" in the showtime listings). At Masked Matinee screenings, tickets will be sold to 25% capacity, masks will be mandatory for the entire show, and no concessions will be sold.
