Showtimes August 1 - 7:

After four perfect months together, Iris (Molly Gordon) and Isaac (Logan Lerman) are ready for a getaway, and they reserve a weekend at a cozy little farmhouse in upstate New York. Far from the city, surrounded by the bliss of fresh fruit and fireflies, they’re adorably happy. They stop at a farm stand. Isaac cooks scallops. They banter outdoors until twilight. They’re a flirtatious match, and maybe even the picture of what it looks like when you’ve found your soulmate… at least that’s what Iris thinks. At exactly the wrong moment, Isaac reveals that he didn’t think they were a serious couple, and that he’s not interested in a long-term relationship. Heartbroken, Iris responds in a half-inspired, half-unhinged way. She holds Isaac captive in an attempt to convince him he’s actually in love with her.

Imbuing her character with a magnetism only she could bring to the role, Molly Gordon plays Iris with so much humanity, you feel great empathy for her broken heart and terrible judgment. But not enough to keep you from laughing with every uncomfortable twist and turn. Refreshingly original, this welcome late-summer indie film “is a testimony to what happens when we pour creative energy into original storylines instead of the dark abyss of reboot culture.” – Anne Donahue, The Globe and Mail
