This screening will include a special introduction by Debbie Hart-Klein of The Huddle, PEG Center for Art and Activism, and Indivisible-RISE

The second film from director Audrey Diwan and grand prize winner at the recent Venice Film Festival, Happening centers on the story of Anne (Annamaria Vartolomei), a bright young student with a promising future ahead of her. When she becomes pregnant in 1960s France, where abortion is illegal, she resolves to act, no matter the risk.

Courageous and honest, the timing of this film couldn’t be more relevant. Particularly for audiences in America, Diwan’s drama serves as a warning of what people may experience if Roe is overturned. “It’s hard to think of a film more necessary in the current moment.” – Little White Lies
