The Fabelmans
Showtimes January 6 - 12:
Co-written by Steven Spielberg and by playwright Tony Kushner, The Fabelmans is an autobiographical story inspired by Spielberg’s own childhood. Revisiting the America of the ’50s and ‘60s, it tells the story of a young boy named Sammy whose parents move him from the East Coast to the West Coast in pursuit of the American Dream. After they take him to see The Greatest Show on Earth, the boy falls in love with the cinema. Arming himself with a camera, he starts to make his own films at home, much to the delight of his supportive mother – a woman who has put her career as a concert pianist on hold for the sake of her family. Described as “beautiful,” “moving,” and “spellbinding,” The Fabelmans is supported by a strong cast including Michelle Williams, Paul Dano and Seth Rogen, and is one of the favorites to win the Oscar for Best Picture this season.
