Contempt

Showtimes September 17 - 21:

Contempt is what an ex-typist (Brigitte Bardot) has for her screenwriter husband (Michel Piccoli) as they become enmeshed in behind-the-scenes struggles while filming an adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey.

Shot in CinemaScope and filled with achingly romantic music by Georges Delerue, Godard’s sun-splashed drama unfolds amid the airiest villas and the most dazzling seascapes. And it’s never looked more vibrant than in this spectacular new Studiocanal/Rialto Pictures restoration, unveiled for the first time at this year’s Cannes Festival.
