When a fire alarm echoes through the halls of his near-empty apartment building, Adam (Andrew Scott) has a chance encounter with his mysterious neighbor, Harry (Paul Mescal). A relationship quickly develops between the two men, and Adam falls for Harry at a moment when he’s also preoccupied with memories of his past. Adam is a screenwriter who’s thinking about his childhood, repeatedly taking the train from his London apartment back to the suburban town where he grew up.
